MG Comet EV price list announced: Know the Features Of MG ZS EV and MG Comet EV
Morris Garages Motor India was one of the first manufacturers in India to introduce an electric vehicle. The ZS EV was first introduced in 2020, with a facelift following in 2022. In the Indian market, the electric crossover has proved very successful. Now, the brand has launched the Comet EV which belongs to an all-new segment of electric vehicles.
Morris Garages (MG) India has released the full price list for their newly introduced Comet EV. The Comet EV, which will be released in late March, will have an introductory price of 7.98 lakh and is now the most affordable electric vehicle available in the country. It is known that the manufacturer has set the starting price of this car, which comes in three variations. Two more variant costs were recently released. The standard variation Pace is priced at Rs. 7.98 lakhs, while Play is priced at Rs. 9.28 lakhs, and Plush (Plush) is priced at Rs.9.98 lakhs (ex-showroom). According to the company, these pricing are only valid for the first 5,000 bookings.
The Comet EV is MG’s second electric car after the ZS EV. Its test drives have already started. MG Motor has announced that bookings for the Comet EV will begin on May 15 at 12 p.m. The pre-bookings have started today. The carmaker is providing a one-of-a-kind experience for buyers by allowing them to track the delivery status of their MG Comet directly from the manufacturing facility via its Track and Trace app. MG Motor is also providing a buyback facility on the MG Comet vehicle. According to the company, if the vehicle is returned after three years, 60 per cent of the vehicle’s ex-showroom price will be repaid.
But that’s not all. There’s more to it. The MG Comet EV includes the MG e-Shield ownership package, which covers repairs and service costs. The 3-3-3-8 package includes the following items:
3 years or 100,000 km warranty
3 years of roadside assistance
3 free labour services – The first three scheduled services
8 years or 1,20,000km battery warranty.
It is equipped with a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery as far as features go. The company claims that it can travel up to 230 kilometers on a single charge. It takes 7 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. It does not support rapid charging. According to the company, it will only cost Rs.519 per thousand kilometers. The first deliveries will take place at the end of May.
The MG Comet EV is available in three single-tone colours: white, black, and silver.
The Comet EV also comes in two dual-tone colours: green with a black roof and white with a black roof. MG also provides various customization possibilities, including colourful decals.

Under the hood, it now has a more powerful 176PS electric engine and a larger 50.3kWh battery pack. This translates to a claimed range of 461 km on a single charge. In terms of charging, a 7.4kW charger is reported to charge from 0 to 100 per cent in 8.5 to 9 hours, and a 50kW fast charger may charge from 0 to 80 per cent in under 1 hour.

MG ZS EV Features
Its cabin has been redesigned and significantly inspired by the Astor, with highlights including a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, and a 360-degree camera. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, i-Smart linked car technology, cruise control, a powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, and automatic headlights and wipers are all standard. Rear seat occupants now have AC vents and an armrest. While six airbags, ABS with EBD, and a tire pressure monitor remain standard, the revised ZS EV also has blind spot warning, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking assist.

MG Comet EV: Design and dimensions
When compared to other automobiles, the MG Comet EV’s design is very polarising. It is a three-door small electric hatchback. The Comet EV has dimensions of 2,974 mm in length, 1,640 mm in height, and 1,505 mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 2,010 mm. The turning radius of the MG Comet is 4.2 meters. As a result, it has a relatively small footprint, making it quite easy to maneuver around the city.

The cabin is quite upscale and up-market for a small EV. The interiors are finished in space grey, with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, chrome door handles, and fabric upholstery.

The Comet EV has a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery with Prismatic cells and a range of 230km. The actual real-world range may be significantly lower, as with other EVs in similar price ranges.

MG uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor installed on the back axle. It produces 41 horsepower and 110 Nm of peak torque.

In terms of safety, the MG Comet EV has 17 hot stamping panels for structural strengthening. In addition, the vehicle has passed 39 rigorous tests to verify the safety of both the vehicle and the battery. MG claims the car has a high-strength body and can withstand extreme weather conditions while remaining durable.

In terms of performance, the Comet EV is no slouch. Despite having a modest battery pack with a capacity of 17.3 kWh, the electric car can travel up to 230 kilometers on a single charge. The Comet EV is powered by a single electric motor installed on the back axle. It can produce up to 41 hp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque. Comet EV has a top speed of 100 mph.
The electric vehicle also has three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

MG Comet Bookings
The bookings for the recently launched Comet electric car by the car manufacturer Morris Garages India have started from 15th May 2023. The car can now be booked on the MG Motor India website and MG dealerships.
You can place an order by paying a minimum amount of Rs.11,000. A new system called ‘Track and Trace’ has been introduced specifically to track the status of your booked car. The details can be known from time to time in ‘MyMG App’.
MG Comet , which has brought an electric car at a low price, is also providing a buyback facility on the vehicle. The company says that if the vehicle is returned after 3 years, 60 percent of the vehicle’s ex-showroom price will be refunded.
